About The Position

This job is located in Peoria,IL Monday- Friday (8a-430p) POSITION SUMMARY: The Access Coordinator for the Breast Cancer Risk Program in the Breast Center is responsible for assisting with patient selection through risk factors and access to the risk assessment program. This involves working with an electronic risk survey for patients, managing the software results for patient tracking and correspondence. This requires speaking to patients regarding cancer risk status, reaching out to providers for patient referrals, scheduling patients for appointments with the Advanced Practice Nurse, and mailing appropriate follow up correspondence when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of medical office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors Risk Assessment Tool for patients' risk results.
  • Has initial conversations with patients at increased risk to introduce the High-Risk Program.
  • Offers assistance to those in need of help to complete the advanced Risk Assessment Tool needed to distinguish those truly at high risk versus those at moderate risk.
  • Schedules interested patients at high-risk for cancer for appointment with Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Contacts provider offices for referral to High-Risk Program for their patient.
  • Contacts insurance companies when necessary for pre-authorization of appointment in High-Risk Program.
