Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, or related area of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be obtained.
  • Three (3) years of direct experience in facilities planning, space management, design, architecture, construction, or a related field.
  • Experience using AutoCAD for floor plan work.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience in a hospital setting.
  • Experience using Archibus workplace management system for facilities and space management.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains base floor plans and life safety plans for MU Health Care facilities, ensuring plans meet all applicable codes.
  • Collaborates with designers and architects to complete room number evaluations and prepare proposals as spaces are modified within projects or when wayfinding is an issue.
  • Works closely with the Planning, Design and Construction team members to update floor plans and space data, providing updates to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Leads and coordinates MU Health Care’s annual participation in the UM System Space Use Inventory, collaborating with School of Medicine partners to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Participates in the annual building status review for UM Risk and Insurance Management’s reporting to renew insurance of all facilities.
  • Assists with receiving, filing, and archiving project plans.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
