About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Fraternity & Sorority Life. - Boca Raton, FL. The Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life (FSL) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) supports membership growth, engagement, and programming within the fraternity and sorority community. Reporting to the Associate Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life, this role assists in implementing recruitment efforts, fostering community involvement, and supporting student-led initiatives. The Coordinator will work closely with student leaders, campus partners, and volunteers to promote a vibrant and inclusive FSL experience in alignment with FAU’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Advising & Student Support: Serve as the primary advisor for one governing council, providing guidance on meetings, events, and basic governance.
  • Attend council meetings and selected programs to maintain visibility and connection with student leaders.
  • Support student leaders in planning recruitment activities, educational programs, and community-building events.
  • Provide resources and referrals for chapter officers regarding recruitment, new member education, and event planning.
  • Membership Growth & Engagement: Assist with recruitment and membership intake logistics in compliance with university guidelines.
  • Help promote values-based recruitment and retention efforts in partnership with student leaders and advisors.
  • Coordinate and market initiatives that encourage community involvement and belonging among members.
  • Support the planning and execution of events designed to increase participation in fraternity and sorority life.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Share educational materials on university and council policies, including risk management best practices.
  • Assist with incident documentation and follow-up in coordination with the Associate Director and campus partners.
  • Program Development & Events: Help coordinate officer training sessions, council retreats, and community events such as Greek Week or awards programs.
  • Support service and philanthropy initiatives by connecting students with campus and community partners.
  • Administrative Support: Track chapter and council completion of requirements (e.g., forms, rosters, training attendance).
  • Assist with basic data collection on recruitment and participation trends.
  • Provide logistical and clerical support for FSL operations, including communications and event preparation .
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
