About The Position

The Donor Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for delivering timely and effective stewardship for all donors who are not assigned to a Development Officer. This role ensures every supporter receives personalized acknowledgement, friendly and responsive service, and a clear connection to the impact of their giving. The position executes the organization’s new donor stewardship plan, maintains donor communications channels, and supports the development of donor-centric content. Strong time management, customer care, and attention to detail are essential to advancing donor retention and overall satisfaction. Requirements

  • Excel working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and demonstrate the ability to embrace the FTB’s commitment to treat all people with equity and respect in pursuit of our mission to feed people in need and mobilize our community to eliminate hunger.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1–3 years experience in donor relations, customer service, nonprofit operations, or related fields.
  • Excellent time management skills — able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines successfully.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a donor-first mindset.
  • CRM/database comfort required; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • High degree of professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead stewardship execution for unassigned donors, ensuring timely and personalized appreciation.
  • Implement Feeding Tampa Bay’s new donor welcome journey as directed by the Assistant Director of Donor Operations.
  • Coordinate a variety of stewardship touchpoints including thank-you calls, emails, letters, welcome packets, and impact updates.
  • Track and fulfill donor recognition and engagement opportunities such as tours, volunteer invitations, and appreciation experiences.
  • Manage the full gift acknowledgement process — drafting, generating, and quality-checking thank-you letters and digital notifications.
  • Assist with copy development for donor impact stories, stewardship messaging, and supporter communications.
  • Partner with Marketing & Communications to ensure messaging is accurate, compelling, and aligned with organizational branding.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact through the donor inbox and inbound call line — responding promptly and professionally to donor inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot donation questions, tribute gifts, event registrations, and other supporter needs with a friendly and solution-oriented approach.
  • Represent Feeding Tampa Bay’s mission and values through exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate donor data and stewardship activity tracking within the CRM (Salesforce experience a plus).
  • Pull and manage reports, mailing lists, and donor data to support stewardship outreach and retention strategies.
  • Provide exceptional service and support to all internal and external customers, ensuring a positive and professional experience at every touchpoint.
  • Act as a self-starter, anticipating needs and proactively contributing ideas to team discussions and problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of all work, paying meticulous attention to detail in data entry, documentation, reports, and correspondence.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development to maintain current industry knowledge and enhance job performance.
  • Support ongoing evaluation of stewardship performance and process improvement opportunities.
