Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Measure and monitor academic performance assessment data, including achievement gap analysis and demographic trends analysis.
  • Lead and develop the training materials for curriculum, instruction and assessment initiatives to include: the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Guide, quality assessments, instructional framework, and use of data.
  • Collaborate with Director of Schools, Principals, Douglas County Federation, Teachers and other members of Learning Services, in the development of K-12 curriculum, evaluation of academic programs, and assessment of student achievement.
  • Communicate to a variety of audiences through Board of Education reports, district newsletters, and other forums as necessary.
  • Monitor and make recommendations in the design and implementation of an effective data gathering system for continued curriculum and instructional improvements.
  • Lead and facilitate study teams and focus groups in curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Develop and lead implementation of a comprehensive K-12 curriculum assessment plan.
  • Help ensure compliance with State and Federal curricular and assessment mandates such as those required for accreditation.
  • Supervise the Departments of Curriculum, Instruction, & Assessment ensuring alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in the District’s standard-based system.
  • Supervise and evaluate coordinators, TOSAs, or professional-technical employees as determined by the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services.
