About The Position

The Coordinator - Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (Literacy) works with the Director and leadership team of the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment (CIA) Department to lead the district's work in Curriculum, Instructional, Assessment, and Professional Learning needs at a district, regional, feeder and individual school level aligned to the goals of the district in order to improve student performance. This role provides leadership and support to and responds to the needs of teachers, teacher leaders, Professional Learning Specialists (PLS) and Building Leadership Teams (BLT) and Leaders in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional learning.

Requirements

  • Two to five years experience planning and implementing a wide-scale staff training in PK-12 school district environment.
  • 3 years of prior Pre/K-12 Teaching Experience.
  • CO Principal Licensure - Colorado Department of Education.
  • Teacher License - Colorado Department of Education.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License - Colorado Dept of Transportation.
  • Master's Degree: Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Master's Degree: Education.

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing embedded staff development or a series of professional learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to help ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to the Colorado Academic Standards.
  • Communicate to a variety of audiences through multiple media including email, newsletters, presentations, and other forums as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Serve as a member of the district textbook/novel and course proposal review teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with, Director of CIA, Academic Cabinet, Executive Director of Schools, school administrators, PLS and/or BLTs to organize and customize district, regional, feeder, multi school, or school professional learning opportunities.
  • Lead professional learning for ongoing staff and district initiatives and/or goals.
  • Coordinate and facilitate opportunities with leaders to analyze academic performance assessment data, including achievement gaps and demographic trends and assist in developing plans to address performance issues.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Curriculum Councils, study teams or focus groups related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Collaborate with Directors of Schools, Principals, Teachers and other members of leadership in the development/revision of comprehensive aligned PK-12 curriculum, evaluation of academic programs, and assessment of student achievement.
  • Serve as liaison for district purchased curriculum, instruction and assessment resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of professional learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Director of CIA to coordinate and facilitate work with curricular resources to include: review, approval, procurement, training, implementation and evaluation of various programs and/or materials.
  • Help ensure compliance with State and Federal curricular and assessment mandates such as those required for accreditation.
