About The Position

This Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning, delivering, supervising and monitoring designed programs for assigned branch.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of (1) one years’ experience in staff supervision.
  • Minimum of (1) one years’ experience in programming/program growth (Youth oriented Programming and Sports).
  • Adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards and attend annual training.
  • CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Program expertise to instruct / lead class(s), team(s) when assigned instruction is unavailable.
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Ability to multitask in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, cause of the YMCA, and uphold its values and ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
  • Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for running and planning and scheduling all aspects of assigned programs.
  • Recruiting, developing, and coordinating all volunteers within programs.
  • Ensuring all program participants have the appropriate registration and payments to participate.
  • Responsible for the safety of all participants, knows emergency procedures and the location of emergency equipment.
  • Maintains positive rapport with participants and parents of participants.
  • Represents YMCA in appropriate business & community groups.
  • Conducts programs in accordance with YMCA of Greater Cleveland standards and guidelines.
  • Promotes and incorporates the YMCA core values and character development model into all program activities.
  • Notify supervisor of any problems relating to program outcomes, impact, tracking and the class overall.
  • Gathers periodic participants feedback through distribution written evaluation provided by the Program Director.
  • Actively and visibly involved with members, volunteers and staff in a positive, friendly manner.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures, including safety practices and personnel policies.
  • Participates in and support association and branch events and fundraising activities.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Supervises employees in assigned accountabilities, monitor site operation and scheduling.
  • Identifies training needs and initiate development activities of supervisees.
  • Secures and maintain required trainings and/or certifications necessary for the position.
  • Assures that new employees complete orientation and training according to established guidelines.
  • Notifies Department Director of job openings, assist in hiring and interview process.
  • Keeps employees informed as to association and branch events.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
