About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Communications Coordinator will implement internal communications best practices for the Archdiocese of St. Louis; serve as the first point of contact for general inquires to the Office of Communications; and provide executive assistance as needed for the Office of Communications leadership team. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Director of Community & Media Engagement; collaborate with other Communications Office members and external vendors; and serve as a key internal communications partner to the many offices, agencies and ministries of the archdiocese.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience (internships may be considered)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Ability to respond quickly, meet deadlines, and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical ability to evaluate and recommend communications solutions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and build trust with colleagues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (including Teams) and familiarity with email marketing platforms preferred
  • Practicing Catholic with knowledge of and commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and distributing twice-weekly internal e-memos for clergy and Curia staff, and electronic news summaries for senior leaders
  • Providing communications support, guidance, and training to archdiocesan offices on best practices and approved platforms
  • Managing the Office of Communications email inbox and responding to general inquiries in a timely, professional manner
  • Assisting with the adoption of new communications platforms in collaboration with internal teams, IT, and vendors
  • Supporting urgent or sensitive communications by drafting, editing, and distributing materials such as emails and news releases
  • Preparing analytics reports and conducting research projects as assigned
  • Assisting with strategic planning and execution of major communications campaigns
  • Drafting communications and performing executive assistance duties as needed
