About The Position

The position is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing patient flow activity for all points of entry requiring a bed, including the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, Operating Room, PACU, and Direct Admissions. The role involves utilizing TeleTracking to manage bed assignments based on patient needs and ensuring that appropriate orders are received for bed placements. Communication with relevant personnel is crucial, especially when discrepancies arise.

Requirements

• 1-2 years' healthcare experience, required.
• High School diploma or equivalent, required.

Responsibilities

• Utilization of TeleTracking to prioritize, assign, and change bed status based on patient needs.
• Ensures appropriate orders are received on requests for bed placement and communicates with appropriate personnel when discrepancies occur.
• Collaborates with Infection Control, using guidelines and policies to appropriately place patients.
• Collaborates with the Director of Inter-Facility Transfers to facilitate timely transfers and increase transfer volume.
• Responsible for the accurate registration of all transfers.
• Collaborates with the Transport Department on patient discharge and intra-hospital transfer needs to improve throughput.
• Changes bed status in TeleTracking to communicate STAT and CLEAN NEXT to Environmental Services staff.
• Screens elective admissions for authorizations, follows up, and reports discrepancies.
• Provides timely feedback to all customers regarding patient placement concerns.
• Participates in professional development activities.
• Manages assigned projects as directed.
• Performs other duties as requested.
