About The Position

The primary role of the Bariatric Coordinator is coordination of care for bariatric surgery patients . This includes performing nutritional assessments and establishing nutritional plans of care for the bariatric surgical patient. Additional work includes th e management of bariatric surgery accreditation and quality improvement program (MBSAQIP) certification. This covers a broad range of responsibilities including but not limited to bariatric program development, policy development, patient and staff education, organization of support group activities, outcomes analysis, quality indicators, oversight of multidisciplinary team and acting as liaison between the hospital and surgical practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CBN within 24 months and /or Registered Dietitian (RD) under CDR (Commission for Dietetic Registration)
  • 3 years' experience in a leadership role in acute care setting
  • (CBN) Certified Bariatric Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse, or (RD/RDN) Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree preferred
  • 3 years' experience in a leadership role in acute care setting and specific experience or training in Bariatric Care
