About The Position

Manages the daily operations of the Furniture Services Warehouse, including receiving, storing, staging, and redistributing district-owned furniture, products, and equipment between campuses and departments. Schedules and coordinates all pick-ups, transfers, and internal moves to ensure operational needs across all district divisions are met efficiently. Ensures all transfers, reallocations, and disposals are accurately documented and tracked in the district’s Fixed Asset Management system. Develops and implements standardized procedures for inventory management, staging, and coordination of furniture moves while maintaining compliance with safety standards, district policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. Oversees the proper disposal of surplus or obsolete items through scrap, recycling, auction, or landfill in accordance with district and regulatory guidelines. Collaborates with campus staff, district departments, and Procurement Services to plan and execute transfers, pick-ups, and disposal activities in a timely and cost-effective manner. Monitors warehouse operations to maintain accountability, optimize workflow, and ensure accurate reporting. Promotes a culture of safety, responsibility, customer service, and continuous improvement across all furniture services warehouse functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the assigned area, including current best practices, methodologies, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the receipt, storage, staging, and redistribution of district-owned furniture and equipment between campuses and departments, ensuring all moves are scheduled, coordinated, and completed efficiently.
  • Schedules and coordinates all pick-ups, transfers, and internal moves, collaborating with campus staff, district departments, and other stakeholders to meet operational needs across all district divisions.
  • Ensures all furniture and equipment transfers, reallocations, and disposals are accurately documented and tracked in the district’s Fixed Asset Management system, maintaining accountability and compliance with district policies.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains standardized procedures for inventory, staging, internal distribution, and handling of furniture and equipment.
  • Oversees the proper disposal of surplus or obsolete furniture and equipment through scrap, recycling, auction, or landfill, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitors warehouse operations, including staging areas and workflow, to maintain accuracy, optimize efficiency, and support timely reporting and decision-making.
  • Provides supervision, training, and guidance to warehouse staff to promote safety, accountability, customer service, and professional development within the Furniture Services Warehouse.
  • Maintains accurate records of all warehouse activities, transfers, and disposals to support reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, special projects, and cross-functional efforts as assigned to enhance operations and overall department effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
