About The Position

The Coordination Center Officer position at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) involves safeguarding the American way of life by securing transportation infrastructure across the country. This role is critical in ensuring the safety of airports, seaports, railroads, highways, and public transit systems, thereby facilitating the freedom of movement for people and commerce. The officer will support various security operations and coordinate with related entities to maintain effective communication and readiness in response to security incidents.

Requirements

  • Must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening and subject to post-employment random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Selective Service registration is required.
  • Availability to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to SV-E or GS-7/8 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.

  • Experience in security screening processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support security functions and operations such as Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) and Screening Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT).
  • Coordinate and track readiness status and maintain working relationships with other TSA entities.
  • Review emergency call information and transfer information according to local procedures.
  • Input incident report data using various systems such as PARIS.
  • Assist in preparing reports and briefings on significant security incidents.
  • Determine the significance of events and ensure proper reporting procedures are followed.
  • Ensure superiors are informed of ongoing activities and important new information.
