About The Position

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of clinical perfusionists and competencies of staff. Subject matter expert (SME) for systems within specified modality. Also performs duties of Perfusionist MCS.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Perfusion Technology Program.
  • Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • 5 years of experience in field of perfusion.
  • Requires travel out of state and on small plane transport.
  • Requires rotating call schedule following department guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with perfusion leadership and staff to assess learning needs, continuing education, and competencies.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, competency measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
  • Serves as a resource for staff in areas of program development, education, clinical practice, and professional development; participates in coordination and continuity of orientation programs.
  • Updates, maintains and monitors equipment, protocols, and educational plans/measurements. May be required to document quality testing, and clinical competency results as required for regulatory purposes.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
