As a Cooperative Education Student/Intern with Newcomb & Boyd’s Consulting Engineering Group, you will be an integral part of a team of engineers multi-tasking on several projects at various stages of design and construction. With each subsequent semester, responsibility level will increase as you experience many facets of our profession. Newcomb & Boyd caters to the needs of clients and owners through the design of MEP systems with the integration of additional services including commissioning, acoustics, communications, building automation, theatre systems, security, and lighting design. Requirements
- Ability to communicate well in writing, as well as verbally
- A desire to develop their knowledge and grow
- Prioritizes effectively, has good follow-through, and is a self-starter
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
Responsibilities
- Create layouts and designs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, commissioning or communication systems.
- Collaborate with other engineers, consultants, and architects to coordinate aspects of our designs
- Visit construction sites and review of completed work
- Participate in Owner and Client meetings
