Good human relations skills, ability to work well with others and be a team member. Prior warehouse experience. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in food science or business discipline. Prior experience in Dairy/Food manufacturing. Food warehousing experience. SAP experience Knowledge and Experience: Dairy experience is preferable, otherwise he/she will be trained to know and perform all Company, State and Federal regulations pertaining to the manufacturing and the distribution of dairy products. He/she must have a full understanding of Safety regulations, shipping/receiving procedures, SQF, GMP’s, Union and Disciplinary Contract procedures, all management functions, and good communication skills. Job Summary: Working within the limits of authority and within Company policies and procedures, manages the department to meet established shipping and load out objectives. The Cooler Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all Shipping, Receiving and Warehousing of incoming and manufactured products. This position requires hands-on responsibility as well as the day-to-day management of the cooler warehouse. Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms above the shoulder. The employee may be required to climb and/or balance on ladders. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Follow and maintain all Safety – Security rules and regulations. Work with leadership team and cooler staff to reduce safety incidents and events. Complete injury investigations in a timely manner. Follow and enforce all GMP’s and Discipline in the Plant. Work with the quality team to ensure compliance with Quality programs such as master sanitation, NYS regulations, HACCP policies and Federal regulations. Maintains employee records such as time sheets, absences, tardiness, and overtime by using the Company payroll system. Provides leadership and guidance to direct reports for the purpose of development and establishing a good working atmosphere. Maintains the warehousing and distribution operation by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures that all outbound and inbound freight is handled properly to ensure the product quality and integrity. Establish clear goals and objectives to drive accountability and action. Maintains department productivity by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, monitoring and appraising job results. Assigns job responsibilities to employees, according to policies to meet planned shipping and production schedules ensuring that the proper equipment repair and operating techniques are followed. Analyzes key performance indicators to make sound business decisions. Effectively keep all lines of communication open with all the other departments within the organization. Coordinates load-out schedules, production runs, bills of lading and trailer inventories. Maintains product rotation and inventory by using the first in and first out method. Promotes the use of the voice to pick program. Uses system to drive increases in usage and efficiency. Responsible for communications with other Plants or Customers. Work with maintenance staff to support and assist with mechanical breakdowns and repairs. Must have the ability to work on multiple shifts and to cover Supervisor vacations. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings when needed. Must be detailed orientated with a strong ability to communicate with others. Must have strong decision-making skills. Must be curious and driven to challenge the status quo. Pay: $60k-$80k/yr. The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
