About The Position

The Cooler Grading Operator position in Souderton, Pennsylvania involves setting up and tearing down the work station at the beginning and end of each shift, which includes the calibration of grading cameras and equipment. The operator will utilize grading equipment to determine USDA quality grades of carcasses processed during the production day, identify USDA yield grades and carcass defects, and maintain communication with USDA graders. Additionally, the operator will assist cooler management in gathering data and investigating items outside of regular employee responsibilities. It is essential for the operator to learn and understand all USDA and carcass segregation products, monitor the implementation of all special programs and grading programs run by the establishment, and learn proper ribbing techniques for grading camera and USDA presentation. The role requires extended walking and standing in cold environments and may involve coverage in other positions as needed.

Requirements

• Computer proficiency
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to work in a cold environment
• Able to work full-time Monday to Saturday, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learning about proper ribbing techniques for grading camera and USDA presentation
• Walking and standing for extended periods in cold environments
• Coverage in other positions as needed.
