About The Position

The Cooking School Events Specialist maintains the class/events online listings, customer registrations, payments and refunds, walk-in inquiries and planning the events with the Cooking School Manager. The job is full time and fills in with cooking class setup-breakdown and dishwashing as needed. This individual maintains the cooking classes/events calendar, Cooking School daily operations, cooking class setup, and communicates with all involved to ensure everything is on schedule and that all billing is handled correctly. In addition to Cooking School events, the Cooking School Events Specialist partners with the Customer Experience Coordinator in Marketing to assist with events. This position is also responsible for Big Cart bookings/billing and the in-store bench program. The location for this role is at our Schnucks store in Des Peres (12332 Manchester Rd, Des Peres, MO 63131).

Requirements

  • High school education
  • Less than 1 year of experience
  • Knowledge Process for listing classes/events online & handling payments and refunds
  • Knowledge of Google Meet and its features, basic knowledge of microphones and lighting
  • Ability to use project management software
  • Understand billing system and how to transfer products
  • Basic food safety principles and table setting for casual to formal events
  • Google Sheets/Excel proficiency
  • Good working knowledge of Google Suite, including Docs, Forms, and Calendar
  • Customer-service oriented in person, over email and on the phone
  • Computer literate
  • Organized and detailed
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Customer contact for Cooking School classes and events - replying to Cooking School emails daily, online listings, registration, payment and refunds, reminder email, recipe emails, intake and waivers related to kids classes and camps, etc.
  • Assist setup and breakdown for classes and events.
  • Manage Big Cart inquiries, bookings, billing.
  • Responsible for managing the vendor that supplies benches for all stores.
  • Ensures that stores have benches and are following the procedures.
  • Point of contact with the bench vendor.
  • Provides direction to the stores.
  • Maintains and communicates calendar for Cooking School classes and events.
  • Coordinates with vendors regarding event details and audio visual requirements.
  • Manages and communicates the sign up process of teammate class offers.
  • Ensures items used for Cooking School classes and events are billed correctly.
  • Assist Customer Experience Coordinator with marketing events and activations.
  • Plays key role in execution of annual Food & Wine event.
