About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform a wide variety of simple cooking tasks. The incumbent will perform a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, hot sandwiches, French fries, onion rings, other fry items, cold sandwiches, eggs, breakfast meats, hash browns, and other breakfast items. The role includes preparing and cooking dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies, as well as preparing food by peeling, chopping, paring, cutting, slicing, and dicing. The incumbent will weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for regular menu items, portion food for distribution and meal service, and cover, date, and store leftovers according to established procedures. Additionally, the position requires washing and cleaning kitchen equipment, following established sanitation procedures when handling food, and ensuring that foods are stored at the correct temperatures to prevent bacteria growth. The incumbent will operate a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam, or microwave heat sources, disassemble, clean, and assemble component parts and accessories according to safety procedures, and clean other work areas and equipment on an established cleaning schedule. Other related duties may be assigned.
