On our team you'll be part of a remarkable organization dedicated serving our community when they need us most. We are currently looking for a Dietary Aide to join our team and help create a dining experience that nurtures both body and soul. Our in-house restaurant, The Gillman, serves 100-150 independent living residents, and we also manage 4 satellite kitchens providing meals to residents in Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long-Term Care, and Skilled Rehab. This means you'll be part of a dynamic and multi-faceted culinary team, delivering quality meals across different dining environments. In this role, you'll work closely with a talented team, including Cooks, Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, and Dishwashers, to maintain high service standards. You'll assist in ensuring timely meal service, cleanliness, and organizational excellence, all while embodying our ECP values—Excellence, Collaboration, and Passion. As a member of the Hospitality Department, you will report directly to our Executive Chef and Director of Hospitality. Your contributions will help ensure our residents enjoy high-quality, delicious, and nutritious meals that meet their individual dietary preferences.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of culinary experience in a true culinary environment (no line cooks, please)
  • A passion for culinary excellence and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Actively working in the culinary field, not someone who has been out of the industry for an extended period
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary guidelines to meet resident needs
  • Strong communication skills and an eye for detail in both food quality and kitchen organization
  • Strong understanding of dietary needs and ability to follow recipes accurately

Responsibilities

  • Assist in meal preparation, including setting up breakfast and following recipes accurately
  • Adhere to dietary guidelines and ensure that meals meet resident preferences and nutritional needs
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Work as part of a team to ensure timely and high-quality meal service
  • Model professionalism, collaboration, and hospitality in every interaction
  • Prepare all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes
  • Prepare and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved
  • Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtaining from storage areas in adequate time for meal production
  • Assist other cooks to ensure that meal service is completed in a timely manner
  • Efficiently resolving problems with resident orders
  • Complete all necessary logs and quality assurance checklists, and ensure proper food storage with date and labels when not in use
