Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant line and/or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and recipe compliance
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and cleanliness standards
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a physical/TB screening
  • Kansas Food Handler’s Card required

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • ServeSafe Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals for residents in the Independent Living neighborhood following standardized recipes and dietary requirements
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation procedures are followed consistently
  • Maintain cleanliness in all workstations and kitchen areas
  • Assist with plating, garnishing, and presenting meals to meet Larksfield Place’s standards
  • Follow established protocols to ensure meal consistency, portion control, and quality
  • Communicate with dietary staff regarding resident preferences and feedback
  • Support daily kitchen operations including prep, equipment checks, and inventory rotation
  • Uphold standards for infection control, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention
