About The Position

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking for patients, staff and visitors, taking into account any dietary restrictions or special requirements. Cooks must ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met and work closely with nutrition team to ensure recipes and portion controls are followed. Cooks and bakes entrees, casseroles, routine and complex recipes for patients, cafeteria and catering in a high quality and timely manner.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast- paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team or independently.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Full Kitchen/Cook experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Culinary Certification preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
  • At least one year of work in a healthcare kitchen a plus.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and nutrition in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Prior work in a commercial kitchen
  • Understand food safety and sanitation.
