About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our kitchen and upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Requirements

• Highschool diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
• One year’s work experience in long term care preferred.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency in meal preparation.
• Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
• Follow all food safety guidelines to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Support the culinary team by preparing sauces, dressings, and other components as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, mixers, and slicers.
• Collaborate with chefs to understand daily specials and menu changes, adapting prep work accordingly.
• Participate in inventory management by tracking ingredient usage and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
• Maintain a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
