About The Position
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job openings for Full Time Cooks (35 HOURS A WEEK) for the Birmingham Area Command, located in Birmingham, AL paying $12 an hour. Please read hours and description before applying: Hours Available: We need Cooks that are available in the mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays etc. Job Type: Full Time This position is responsible for : Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent, and One year experience cooking food for large groups, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within 21 days of hire
- Applicable state, local and/or program contract certifications or licenses
Responsibilities
- ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner.
- cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances.
- maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner.
