About The Position
Join a great team at the Redwood Hospital! Be a part of our mission to provide comfort and care through outstanding food and service. Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing necessary meals and food items to support the dietary and food service needs of the patients, visitors, and employees of the hospital. Duties include food prep, kitchen clean-up and customer service. This position works with a fun, close-knit team who enjoys their jobs! Deliver food to patients and help customers. Wide variety of duties. Schedule Casual position working varied hours. Various shift times between 6:00AM and 8:00PM
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or prior experience or at least one year as a cook or related position in hospital, restaurant or similar setting
- Food Safety Training accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) – Conference for Food Protection (CFP). Can be ServSafe or TAP Series.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate and interact with patients, visitors, and employees in a professional, appropriate manner.
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of Safe Food Handling course preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in an institutional food service department preferred but not required.
