About The Position

Position Summary: To be an active member of the dietary team. To provide the best dietary service for the patients, guests, and employees.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience preferred but not necessary.
• Basic understanding of therapeutic diets desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specified food items using standardized recipes for patient tray service and cafeteria, according to food production sheets.
• Maintains high standards of quality for all food items served.
• Dates and stores leftover food as required by department procedures.
• Performs procedures for cleaning and sanitizing food service equipment and maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Demonstrates awareness of nutrition standards.
• Demonstrates cost effective cooking by using recipes.
• Assists in dishing food and makes certain that the correct food is going to the patient for all meals.
• Utilizes appropriate resources when faced with complex food service problems.
• Must be able to work on a rotating schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
• Practices proper safety procedures when using food service equipment, chopper, slicer, ovens, knives,etc.
• Prepares necessary food items for special function meals as assigned in addition to daily duties.
• Responsible for taking phone calls while on duty while completing daily work assignments.
• Must be willing to accept non‐routine work assignments, within area of responsibility.
