About The Position

Overview Position Summary The responsibilities of the Cook will be planning, prepping, setting up, and delivering high-quality food production for menu items and daily specials in the designated kitchen areas. This role ensures that all food items are prepared according to standardized recipes, plating guide specifications, and health and safety standards. The Cook will maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation within the kitchen, working closely with the Head Cook to ensure excellent service and food quality. Ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving. Coordinates and participates in serving food, including monitoring portion control to meet residents’ requests and minimize waste. Maintains an accurate record of chargeable meals (resident, guest and catered) and submits record to the office by the designated date each month. Assists with menu planning; reviews and adjusts menus with Dietary Manager to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events and holidays. Assists in identifying food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and reports to the Dietary Manager. Prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensures proper handling, storage and labeling of all delivered foods and ingredients. Maintains a clean, orderly, safe and sanitary kitchen environment. Ensures compliance with any and all regulations. Assists in training other kitchen staff in food preparation. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • ServSafe certification
  • 1+ years of cooking experience
