A cook prepares and serves food for hospital patients, guests, customers, and employees. The cook must follow prescribed diet orders, follow recipes, adjusts menu as needed for substitutions and follow safe food handling guidelines. The cook is responsible for unlocking/locking the department, recording temperatures, cleaning, and sanitizing their work areas, completing assigned responsibilities, helping with putting stock away and supervising department employees in the absence of the Nutrition Services Coordinator or Manager.
