Summary: In accordance with department policies and procedures, the cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner; operating and cleaning kitchen equipment; and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas.
Requirements
- Highschool Diploma/ GED
- Previous food preparation experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and the ability to operate kitchen equipment preferred.
- Serv-Safe certification or be willing to obtain upon hire
Responsibilities
- Prepares, cooks and serves food in accordance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Complies with food safety standards and guidelines during all phases of food handling.
- Adheres to portion control by using standardized recipes and proper utensils for measurement.
- Completes all required documentation including but not limited to food and equipment temperature logs.
- Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils and equipment, and returns to proper storage areas as requested.
- Performs daily and/or scheduled cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures; reports needed maintenance and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
