About The Position

The Cook at Tanque Verde Ranch is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that reflect the Ranch’s standards of excellence, hospitality, and guest experience. This role supports daily kitchen operations by preparing menu items efficiently and safely, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and working collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service. Requirements

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred (culinary training a plus)
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and quality standards
  • Ability to take direction and follow established procedures
  • Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
  • Assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events as assigned
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper temperature throughout service
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times
  • Properly label, store, and rotate food products following FIFO procedures
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties, including cleaning and equipment care
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen leadership and team members to support service flow
  • Support fellow team members as needed to ensure timely and efficient service
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
