About The Position

The main responsibility of a Cook is to plan and prepare nutritional meals for residents of the assigned inpatient facility. Cooks oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, including placing orders, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and following all food safety guidelines. This position is best suited to someone who is highly organized, able to work independently, and has previous kitchen experience. This position is at Bridges, our 16-bed adult evaluation and treatment facility. Schedule: As needed 7:00am - 6:00pm, any day of the week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months of related kitchen and cooking experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain Food Handler's permit
  • Must have valid driver's license and vehicle liability insurance
  • In compliance with state and federal law, Comprehensive Healthcare requires all candidates to complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check. Responsibilities

  • planning, preparing, & serving well-balanced meals for clients
  • coordinating with a dietary consultant on a regular basis to ensure clients’ nutritional needs are being met
  • cleaning and organizing kitchen area and all kitchen equipment, including requesting repairs or replacement as needed
  • strictly following all food safety rules to prevent cross-contamination and food-borne illness
  • preparing menus and ordering food & supplies
  • completing all required documentation regarding recipes, menus, food orders, meals served, special diets, etc.
  • coaching other staff on food preparation and work safety, as appropriate
