Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility
  • ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions, food prep procedures, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PCC is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Preparing meals in accordance with menus, special diets, and portion controls
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and food service areas
  • Recording food temperatures and preparing pureed meals as needed
  • Ensuring food is presented in an appealing and appetizing manner
  • Assisting with serving and supervising in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor
  • Participating in staff training and orientation
