About The Position

Cook I, II, III - FT Are you a culinary enthusiast who thrives on creating delicious and nutritious meals? Do you have a passion for making a positive impact in people's lives through food? Haxtun Health, a cornerstone of the beautiful northeast Colorado plains, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Cook to join our compassionate team! Starting Pay Range: $15.61/hr - $23.87/hr, depending on experience Position Status: Full-time, non-exempt Shift: Variable shifts based on operational needs Shift Differentials: Nights = +10% of base wage (after 6pm), Weekends = +15% of base wage Application Deadline: April 27, 2026. Job Summary: This position is responsible for preparing and delivering meals that meet individual dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food quality, sanitation, and safety. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, customer-focused, and able to follow standardized recipes, portion control guidelines, and menus, including regular and modified diets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow a standardized recipe and practice portion control.
  • Ability to understand regular and modified diets and use a menu as reference.
  • 1 year of experience in food preparation and sanitation
  • Knowledge of foods and preparation methods

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued at approximately 17 days for the first year of employment for hourly employees and 22 days for the first year of employment for salaried employees. PTO accrual increases as your length of service increases. This includes holidays.

  • Retirement Plan: Up to a 3% employer match, which increases with your length of service. New employees are automatically enrolled at a 1% contribution rate (can be opted out). Employees must complete 5 years of employment to be 100% vested.
  • Employee Health Payment Match: Haxtun Health matches employee payments up to $1,000 per year per family for services received at Haxtun Health’s hospital or clinics.
  • Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program (FAMLI): Haxtun Health participates in the CO FAMLI program, which is a social insurance program that provides up to 12 weeks of paid leave for qualifying life events.
  • Term Life Insurance: 1 x annual salary term life provided by HHD, no employee premium ($200,000 Max.). Additional voluntary life insurance coverage for the employee and family is an option which can be purchased by the employee.
