The Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare the highest quality food consistently and efficiently to Harkins’ recipes and standards, as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. This cook plays an integral part in the financial success of the restaurant. It is the cook's responsibility to accurately and efficiently prepare and portion food products prior to service. What You Will be Doing: Prepare menu ingredients following a recipe to produce consistent results. Complete daily prep list, maintain station throughout shift, follow all specifications, and stock items as needed. Rinse and cut raw food products. Portion products and follow recipes to ensure plate presentation looks great and is consistent. Comply consistently with portion sizes, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period. Prepare items for broiling, grilling, sautéing or other cooking methods based off recipe requirements. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Handle, label, store, and rotate all products properly. Conduct proper temperature checks of all food and document using the appropriate standard procedures. Follow sanitization standards, ensure workstation stays clean and organized, and follow all food handling standards. Communicate promptly and courteously with all guests. Communicate effectively with management and staff.Maintain a clean working environment and follow operating checklists. Follow all applicable liquor laws and company policies.Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.
