About The Position

City of Hope is a leading cancer research and treatment organization dedicated to making hope a reality for those affected by cancer and diabetes. Founded in 1913, it has grown into one of the largest and most advanced centers in the U.S., known for breakthrough cancer medicines, human synthetic insulin, and monoclonal antibodies. The organization operates an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center and a growing national system of clinical care locations. The Cook is responsible for preparing quality, nutritious, attractive, and appealing food and beverage products for customers and patients under specialized care. This role ensures adherence to the organization's established Food and Dietetic nutritional guidelines, complies with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and completes other daily tasks assigned by leadership.

Requirements

Currently dated Food Handler’s Permit from County/State Health Department in which you reside if required by the state (Required in AZ)
Certification from an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) food handler training accredited program or obtained within 30 days of employment (Required in IL)

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
Culinary Arts education
Minimum 1 year of experience in Food and Beverage/Hospitality/High-volume hospital cafeteria setting
ServeSafe Preferred Certification (for AZ)
ServeSafe preferred (for IL)

Responsibilities
