About The Position

Brandywine Living, a premier provider of quality senior living, is seeking a Chef to join their team. The Chef will assist the Executive Chef in all phases of meal preparation, including preparing salad bar offerings, desserts, and bakery items. This role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and safety practices in all phases of kitchen operation, food preparation, and storage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

Nice To Haves

• Prior customer service or hospitality experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in all phases of meal preparation.
• Prepare salad bar offerings, desserts, and bakery items.
• Maintain the highest standards of sanitation and safety practices in all phases of kitchen operation, food preparation, and storage.
• Maintain a working knowledge of culinary methods as related to ingredient preparation and recipe execution.
• Assist Executive Chef with meal preparation as assigned.
• May assist in procurement of food inventory and supplies.
• Properly label and store food items in accordance with safe storage standards.
• Understand the operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment (food processor, dishwasher, convection oven, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including floors.
• Responsible for creation and preparation of baked food items, breads, desserts, etc.
• Perform scheduled cleaning of equipment and work according to schedule as planned by the Executive Chef.
