The Pines at Davidson is hiring cooks to create innovative, delicious meals for a high-end dining experience. Under the leadership of our Master Chef, you will grow your skills while delighting our residents with taste and timely delivery. We are a scratch kitchen supporting multiple newly renovated dining venues. We are committed to growing a workforce of top-notch culinary professionals. Requirements

  • A Minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience with hands on food prep.
  • A cook with a track record of reliability and ability to learn
  • Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Cook food in various equipment
  • Follow recipes
  • Ensure great presentation of food
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check and ensure quality of ingredients
  • Monitor stock and let management know when there are anticipated shortages
  • Be a team player on our great team!
