About The Position

Allegro Living, formed through the 2025 merger of Allegro Management Company and Spring Arbor Management Company, is building a premier senior living platform. Allegro Winter Park is seeking a Full-Time Cook to join its dining team in a welcoming assisted living community. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and creating fresh, nutritious, and beautifully presented meals that enhance the daily lives of residents. The position offers a stable kitchen role with purpose, operating on a schedule of 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM with no late nights. Candidates with experience as a line cook, prep cook, kitchen cook, or restaurant cook are encouraged to apply to bring their skills to a rewarding senior living environment.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes. Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils. Properly maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
