About The Position

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a Cook for our Cafe! PRN Status The cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving food for patients, staff and visitors. Must work in a clean manner following proper food handling techniques. Must maintain and update knowledge of all equipment and supplies used in the dietary department.

Requirements

Must be able to prepare meals as assigned.
Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including basic computer use.
Must meet all local health regulation requirements including a criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Previous health care cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares the meals as assigned following the menu.
Pulls the assigned prep foods.
Acts appropriately as a supervisor on shift when required.
Food served is high quality.
Completes the daily task sheets and other assigned paperwork properly.
Maintains the kitchen areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Restocks supplies if needed.
Reports any equipment failures.
Uses chemicals appropriately.
Refills all necessary supplies and dispensers as required.
Follows cooling procedures correctly.
Wears protective personal equipment as required.
Participates and contributes to department performance improvement and quality programs and initiatives.
Utilizes attendance systems per organizational and departmental guidelines.
Does Meditech reports as assigned.
