About The Position

The Cook position is responsible for preparing all center meals according to pre-planned menus and in compliance with government and management directives. Key duties include instructing cook helpers and work-based learning students on safe and hygienic meal preparation, maintaining kitchen equipment, ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment, and assisting with post-meal clean-up. The role also involves promoting positive customer service and participating in student employability programs.

Requirements

  • HSD or equivalent
  • A valid driver license with an acceptable driving records. unless waived by management.

Nice To Haves

  • Food service training
  • One (1) year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of all center meals in accordance with pre-planned menus in compliance with government and management directives.
  • Assist in instructing cook helpers and work-based learning students in the safe, hygienic method of preparing and serving appetizing, eye-appealing meals.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition, and ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
  • Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
  • Promote and support positive customer service through the facility.
  • Participate and promote student employability programs and activities.
