About The Position

Cascade Community Healthcare (CCH) has been providing treatment services to Lewis County and surrounding areas for more than 50 years. Our mission is to provide our clients with compassionate and encouraging counseling leading to a renewed sense of hope and the ability to make positive changes and live more satisfying lives. Cascade currently has six treatment locations in Lewis County. The Cascade Evaluation and Treatment Center provides intensive mental health and psychiatric services for adults 18 and older. This 22-bed facility has 16 beds on the evaluation and treatment unit, and 6 beds on our crisis stabilization unit. We are looking for a Cook to join our team. The Cook supports daily food service operations by assisting with meal preparation, serving, sanitation, inventory, and kitchen organization. This position ensures a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment while complying with all food safety standards, agency policies, and operational expectations. SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Day Shift, Thursday - Sunday: 6:30am - 5:00pm This position is eligible for $2/hour shift differential for eligible hours on Swing an NOC shifts and hours worked on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. PAY SCALE: $19.50 - $23.75, DOE

Requirements

  • WA State food handlers permit, must keep current.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to follow sanitation requirements.
  • Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background checks, may require a national background check.
  • Current driver’s license and legally able to drive in Washington State.
  • Satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to follow sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Strong Communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
  • Must comply with agency policies and procedures.
  • Must represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
  • Must maintain current home telephone and address on file with the personnel office.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in prep work of main kitchen and associated kitchens. Including a.m. line, p.m. line, snacks, and special functions.
  • Prepare food in accordance with menus and sanitation standards.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.
  • Daily care of dishwasher and dishwashing area, sinks, worktables, dish storage areas and food carts.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors; operate mechanized cleaning equipment.
  • Receive food orders and rotate stock appropriately.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food and kitchen supplies.
  • Communicate with food vendors and shop for food as necessary.
  • Assist with menu creation.
  • Monitor and report equipment repair or replacement needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
