Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary experience or training preferred.
Prior experience in cooking for children or in a childcare setting is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety practices and nutrition guidelines.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prepare meals from scratch and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing menus or dietary needs.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in cooking for children or in a childcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook daily meals following menu guidelines and nutritional standards.
Work closely with the program director and nutrition staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and special food requirements.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices.
Maintain accurate records of food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Participate in hygiene and safety training as necessary; ensure compliance with local health codes and regulations.
Interact positively with children, staff, and families.
