About The Position

As a Cook I at Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking all food items according to menus, expedite orders quickly and correctly as ordered, and ensuring junior members of team are performing duties to standards and specifications. Tucked within historic Lake Geneva, Timber Ridge Lodge at the Grand Geneva Resort, is the only all-season, all-suite, destination of its kind in the Midwest. Featuring 50,000 square feet of year-round, indoor/outdoor waterpark excitement, Timber Ridge Lodge is a family bonding adventure that’s soaked in memories. Just 90 minutes from Chicago and 50 minutes from Milwaukee, this property is also home to two championship golf courses, WELL Spa and fitness center, Mountain Top Ski Park, award-winning restaurants, and 1300 acres of picturesque grounds.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a line cook in a fast paced, high pressure, and busy work environment.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
  • Knowledge of proper knife handling, techniques, and cooking procedures and basic prep functions (i.e. cleaning greens, prepping vegetables).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
  • Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and special items like stocks and sauces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas to meet Health Department regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.
  • Uphold high standards of food production and presentation.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work.
  • Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
