About The Position

Are you passionate about cooking and the well-being of others? Join our dedicated team at Turning Point Care Center, where we prioritize nutrition and deliciousness for our patients and staff! As a Cook at Turning Point, you will play a crucial role in preparing healthy and appetizing meals in compliance with dietary guidelines. We understand the impact that good nutrition can have on recovery and overall health, and we're looking for someone who shares this belief. In this friendly environment, you'll collaborate closely with a team of culinary professionals, dietitians, and staff to create a diverse menu that meets the varying tastes and dietary needs of our patients. Your daily efforts will ensure that every meal served is not only nutritious but also delightful. If you have a heart for service and a knack for cooking, we would love to have you on board to enrich the lives of our patients through food! What does a typical day look like for a Turning Point Cook? Our cooks work ten hour shifts. When cooks arrive at work, they review the day’s established menu and prepare the work area, cook the meals in large batches, and serve approximately 120 meals per mealtime. As part of our food and work safety practices, our cooks also monitor temperatures of the cooler, freezer, and dishwashers, record results, report any deviations from proper temperatures, and complete routine cleaning tasks including mopping and dishwashing. Our cooks prepare and serve three meals per day and have alternative options for special diets. This position is a PRN status. PRN Cooks work on an as-needed basis, but are usually scheduled in advance to work.
