The Cook position involves preparing and portioning various food items with high quality, wrapping, labeling, and dating them for storage. Responsibilities include receiving, storing, and rotating supplies, preparing meals according to planned menus, and checking food storage areas daily for proper rotation. The role requires using and cleaning cooking and food preparation equipment, as well as performing general and assigned sanitation duties in the kitchen and dining areas in conformance with sanitary, health, and safety regulations. The Cook will also orient, motivate, supervise, and evaluate production and kitchen employees, maintain rapport with other departments, and ensure confidentiality of resident information. All duties must be performed in accordance with safety and infection control policies and procedures, demonstrating a courteous and responsible attitude toward staff, residents, and visitors, and working effectively with little supervision.
