Requirements

Experience in cooking, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or hospitality setting
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Attention to detail and a passion for preparing great food
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively
Creativity, reliability, and a positive attitude
Must be able to speak and read in English

Responsibilities

Applies comprehensive knowledge of food preparation, handling, safety, and sanitation
Prepares hot entrees, soups, vegetables, and accompaniments for various dining areas
Follows recipes and preparation sheets to ensure quality and presentation
Completes advance prep, food temperature checks, and tasting for each meal
Maintains accurate preparation records and stores food properly
Cleans work area and equipment after use
Follows proper lifting, bending, and safety procedures
Assists with fire safety and emergency evacuation as needed
Cooperate with other departments and maintains a clean, safe environment
Performs other duties as assigned
