Requirements

  • Has a combination of two years of experience in institutional or commercial food services and/or culinary science education.
  • Has dependable, insured transportation and valid California Driver’s License (mileage to be reimbursed) and acceptable driving record. A DMV printout and proof of insurance will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Has experience cooking for large groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Food Production Supervisor in preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines.
  • Help create, test, and standardize recipes that meet nutritional requirements.
  • Pack and deliver food to multiple centers, maintaining high standards for food quality and safety.
  • Manage inventory by receiving and storing food service supplies correctly.
  • Keep detailed records of deliveries, equipment maintenance, and financials.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment and ensure thorough cleanup after meal service.
  • Drive the food service delivery vehicle and communicate daily with Center Supervisors and Teachers about each delivery.
  • Participate in workshops and career development activities to enhance your skills.
