We have a Fantastic opportunity for a rising culinary professional as a Cook to join our team! This role works with an incredible population of residents on weekdays in a fantastic environment. Our Cooks: Prepare assigned stations for shift. Under direction of lead cook/sous chef, prepare individual components of various entrees and food items, adhering to the individual dietary restrictions of residents. Occasionally setup food buffets for special events. Help prep food items for continental breakfast. Maintain kitchen food safety and sanitary food handling in compliance with State, Federal, and DSHS regulations. Perform other duties as assigned Help with dishes and keep kitchen clean and well organized. What you need to succeed!

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Current First Aid Training and Food Safety Certifications may be required in some states per state/local requirements.
  • Ability to prepare high quality food for our residents.
  • Flexibility with schedule may be required, with the occasional need to work daytime (lunch hour), special events, and other days/shifts as needed.
  • No weekends required!
  • Maintain professional relationships with food and equipment venders as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with staff and residents.
  • Ability to prepare therapeutic/modified diets.
  • CPR and first aid training may be required per state/local guidelines.
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course, as required by state/local guidelines.
  • Completion of background check and/or pre-employment tasks.
  • The ability to push/pull/carry up to 50lbs.
  • Standing and walking, reaching overhead, lifting heavy objects, and use of kitchen appliances and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a cook/lead cook (1-2 years preferred).
