Beztak is looking to hire a Cook to join our team. The Cook performs all necessary duties to uphold the community’s standards of quality and excellence in food, service, and hospitality. The position is responsible for preparing well-presented meals in a timely fashion according to the scheduled menu and/or resident requests. Morning Cook Hours: 6:30am - 2:30pm

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the industry
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills
  • The ability to multi-task effectively

  • Passion, dedication and commitment for providing seniors an engaging, enlivening and captivating living environment
  • Be proactive to identify issues before they occur
  • Able to handle problems as they arise in relation to the operation of the community
  • Collect data and establish facts to draw valid conclusion when problems arrive. Make necessary changes to prevent the problem from occurring again

Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of meal preparation, cooking and presentation as assigned
  • Completes prep work as required for future meals
  • Assists in the completion of the order sheets to maintain the appropriate level of supplies and inventory
  • Maintains refrigerator and freezer in an organized manner and as required by the health department
  • Assists in the storage of stock items that have been delivered
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace and work environment
  • Sweeps and mops kitchen area as assigned
  • Assists wait staff when required and needed
  • Adheres to all food handling regulations
  • Knows and uses provided Universal Precautions and Personal Protective Equipment, according to requirements established by OSHA
  • Operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle (as required) to perform job duties. Candidates must be willing and able to drive for work-related purposes as needed.
  • Workings in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills
