About The Position

BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in the beautiful city of Rosemead, California. Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients and facility staff according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. Requirements

  • Education/Experience: One (1) year experience in quantity cooking is desired, a basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation; experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils; and some prior kitchen supervisory experience helpful.
  • Current Certified Food Handler Card preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Open the kitchen and ensure organization of daily events.
  • Comply with facility and departmental policies and procedures regarding food services offered.
  • Follow menus and recipes as provided by the Food Service Manager and Dietitian.
  • Prepare meals and beverages according to menu cycle and daily production sheet, providing attention to attractive and tasteful meals.
