About The Position

A line cook prepares high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards, maintains a clean and organized workstation, and supports smooth kitchen operations during service. The role combines technical cooking skills with consistency, speed, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques (sautéing, grilling, frying, roasting).
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a commercial kitchen or culinary training is helpful
  • ServSafe certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment before each shift.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO).
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as grills, fryers, ovens, and slicers.
  • Communicate with the kitchen team to coordinate timing, handle special requests, and support smooth service.
  • Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service, adjusting as needed to maintain consistency.
  • Assist with prep work, including chopping, marinating, portioning, and batch cooking.
  • Follow cleaning routines, including end-of-shift breakdown, dish area support when needed, and maintaining a tidy station.
  • Adhere to health department regulations and internal safety protocols at all times.
